Once upon a time...

I had a horn.

...and that horn gave me magical powers....powers to manipulate hipster boys into thinking I'm a horny unicorn.

Oh, silly boys...how little you know. Your powers are weak and mine will always supesede yours.

Sister act

So I have this little sister that I'm not sure many of y'all have heard about, but she does exist. Ok, she's obvs not my biological sister, but she's probably the closest one I've had to having a lil sis (Yali, your still my big sis...no worries).

Anyways, I love this girl more than anything. She helped me thru some tough times and has been nothing but a great friend. I truly appreciate everything she's done for me. I can only wish upon the brightest future for her. Oh boy, I'm starting to get mushy. Anyways, I love tryin to keep up with her crazy life and all that she's got going on. Gosh, and she's only 17!

You should really check out her myspace music page, though. She's young, she's gorgeous, and she's oh-so talented. A singer, a dancer, a model, and an actress...you name it, she does it! Big things are in store for my lil Mashi Mash.

Big ups to the 2/3rds of the inside out oreo cookie! Where Tashi at?

I better NOT see your face here

...and by that I mean, you better be there!

Come in costume or I will kill you...with my magic. Oh the curiousity...it's already killing you, huh? Want more "...'s?" Well, I'll give them to you...if you want. They're my favorite punctionality...and you know you love them, too.

I spend my life savings on toys

I have been way too sleepy this past week to type anything quality. My insomnia is back in full force which is not so fun for mid-day lazy spells. Lots n' lots have been going on. I've been getting slightly overwhelmed, but I had a nice long weekend to kind of forget about things and just have some fun.

I had an awesome vistor, Nikki Lee, come in from LA on Thursday. He flew in early morning and pretty much woke me up with a phonecall to tell me he was in my lobby downstairs. We went out to the Heist party later that night at Rebel which I just recently posted pictures from. It was a pretty large/rad venue with plenty of rooms to venture around in. Miss photog, Jacquelene, was also in town for the occassion and was holdin down the photobooth (can't wait to see those pics). Crazy kids all around. Free booze in the VIP with "Legit" JV bracelets. I dug the scene with it's fake(?) trees, chandeliers, green walls, and all. Lexi Lex was set to perform later in the night which I regretfully missed. I wanted to see her with her new band she formed earlier that day (yes, you read that correct...no typo). AK and pizza were an obvious way to end the night.

Friday morning, we slept in, and I decided to take the day off so Nikki and I could do some damage in Soho. I pretty much spent most of my money at KidRobot indulging in some pretty sweet toys. I bought this awesome yellow and black lumberjack check hoodie from the men's section of another store and Nikki bought a purple button-down flannel in the same print. We matched, but that was totally not planned. When I got out of the store, I took off the hoodie I had on and immediately switched to my new favorite purchase. I got complimented on it in the streets, twice in the Kidrobot store, once in a Duane Reade, a couple other times somewhere else. I admit, I felt cool. Later that evening, we went out to this art/fashion showcase of a friend of mine's. He has his own line and designs very graphic-y t-shirts, hoodies, cardigans, etc. His latest collection, a Brian Wood Exclusive, was on display in honor of Halloween. We entered the building and felt like mice in a maze just trying to find the studio it was held in. We found the location by following the horror sounds from movie Pyscho they had playing on a projector screen. When we got there, free booze and candy were offered. I said my "hellos," mingled for a bit, and posed for some pictures. I had to show my support and bought a shirt of his. Though he only had men's clothing on display, we found a small that would fit me (please see my previous post for a pic). It glows in the dark...just sayin! We only stayed a short while so we could head out to The Annex, but by the time we arrived there, we were pretty exhausted and decided to turn home. We ordered a very large feast of Chinese takeout instead. Best. idea. EVER!

As for the next day, Nikki ventured out into the city on his own and I did a massive bleach cleaning at my apartment. I was supes stoked on the shine from my bathroom and kitchen. I actually might have been blinded by the brightness and poisoned by the fumes. I'm surprised I survived.

At night, we AK'ed it up for more CMJ afterparties where Dagger DJ'd the whole party. She threw us out dancetastic tunes and received a dance party in return. She's the only DJ I know that can manage that Angels & Kings (no offense, Rob Hitt/Ultragrrrl). Oh hey, and Parker made an appearance! I was glad to see my ladies. Also, new friend, Brian, was in for the fun. Some people got extra drunky, some managed to stay low key. All in all...another successful fun'scapade!

Sunday....Sunday was what we called "Kids Day." KidRobot and I had met again and I purchased even more cuties to add to my collection. It's addicting. Don't get yourself involved, trust me. I just can't resist their ugly, morbid charm. I'm officially obsessed. My new favorite collection is the Bent World Vandals. PS...if anybody buys me the Snorse I saw on display at the store, I would love them forever. It is sold out everywhere else! Pwease!? It's only $250.

Then we headed uptown to go home, but got caught by Dylan's candy. Um, whoa. We went bonkers...you all know how I get with my candy. It's a little too dangerous to live this close to a candy store. We even contemplated throwing a private party at the store the next time all the "kids" are in town. I took down the information, bought my candy, and got out of there as quick as I could. Then, since we decided we spent enough money for the weekend, we finally went home and made a nice pasta dinner. Yummy foodz filled our tummies as Nikki and I unwrapped all our mutant friends to see what surprises we got.

Monday, Nikki left back for LA. I already miss having him as a sidekick. It was back to work and straight to buisness where stress seemed to settle in quite quickly. I am taking the entire week off from going out and just spending it on my couch. I want to be top notch for all Halloweening events this weekend and next week. What to be? What to be. Guess you'll just have to wait and see. ;)

I don't do cabs

I can't believe it's been so long since my last post....I sorry, friends.

My friend Nikki is in town from Orange County (I would've said LA, but he woulda corrected me. To me, LA/California is all the same thing). We've been out on the town A LOT...shopping/eating/partying. I'll give more deets from our adventures later. We've had a very eventful week.

Come Play! CMJ!

Tonight:

Not sure of my exact plans yet, but there's The Matches, Heist, and AK. I wanna see The Matches, but they're going on late. I will definitely be at Heist. Jacquelene is doing the photobooth. More friends from LA are in town. Come by, text me, let's make plans and all party together. I'm so stoked on good times. Last night's Photo Atlas performance at The Annex and some High Voltage partying got me ready to dance, dance, dance. Photo Atlas = sooo good. I've been in hibernation mode for the past month or so, so I'm ready to come out of my little cave and break it down. Let's go!

I want to go back to prom!

Pete & Ashlee take over temporarily for Barftime Parker and Jesse Katsopolis. They’re so cute it hurts. It’s kinda funny because I began despising both of them in their single days, but I’ve found myself beginning to love them in their coupledom (mainly because I’m so jealous). If anybody wants to be my boyfriend in the near future, please remember to be this adorable with me. K thanks.

PS...whatever happened to homecoming (*cough* Angela *cough*)???

On my toes

I'm running on tired energy! I'm so hyper, right now, and I went to bed at 5am. I forgot how long it takes to do a project for your portfolio. I worked on it all weekend...going to bed no earlier than 4am each night and waking up as early as possible. As stressful and time consuming as it is...I almost missed it. It was a lot of work, but I'm so happy with the way it came out. I feel my creative juices slowly flowing back to me. Finally, I'm getting inspired again. I'm pumped and ready for all these interviews. I'm gonna get me a good job this time. I'm feeling so positive about this all.

On that note, this is a great start to the week. Let me share a slight embarassing, but funny, incident that happened this morning:

On my way to work, I was at the subway station hurrying down the escalator to catch the train pulling in (mind you, with a rather cute boy behind me). Well, while I was acting so swift, I accidently kicked off my shoe. For those that don't know, I have rather small feet and my shoes don't always fit so snuggly. Because of this, I stuff the toes with fabric. So you can imagine my embarassment as I saw the fabric fly out of my shoe as well. I felt like a 13-year old that stuffs my bra! How embarassing! But really, it made my morning evening better cause it cracked me up and I laughed histerically at myself.

So that was my embarassing tidbit for the morning. Don't say I never tell you anything!

CMJ this week...many more stories to come this week, for sure!

Late night ramble

It's 4:00 in the morning (I find myself blogging more at this hour of night), and I am sore, exhausted, and drained. I trucked out to last night's first FirstCrush Friday and hung through 'till the end. I was happy so many people came out for the occassion, though both Dagger and I feel bad her set didn't start until later. Friends from Po-town/the MC even showed up in celebration of Curtis' birthday....wuurd! I went back to Brooklyn with my curbie, Erica. I needed to wake up early and head to another friend, Temis' place, to work on our portfolios all day...in which we did. We both have interviews coming up. I still have tons left to do, so I'm predicting tomorrow will be just as long. I hope it doesn't wipe me out too much cause this week is gonna be intense with CMJ. Wow. Ok, I just got wicked anxiety just thinking about all that is going on this week. I hope I live through this...lol. And on that note......time to sleep.

Crushcrushcrush!!!

This is pretty much Paramore week on my blog...it's a big one for them, so I'm obvs supporting in full force...and you could expect more to come.

Today they released their new video "Crushcrushcrush" on TRL.

I still can't believe how far they've come in just one year.

Check out their live MTV performance in NY at the Hard Rock Cafe earlier this summer. I haven't seen a live performance so strong in a very long time...not to mention the crowd gives me the chills.

First FirstCrush Friday!

Finally...Dagger has her own night supported the Stolen Transmission party! It's seriously gonna be so awesome, you have no idea! Erica always rocks the house, so expect your feet to be sore Saturday morning from dancing all night long.

Come, come, come...and be dalancable with us. (yes, I just made up that word, and I know you're already using it on your current im conversation). Wuurd.

Slack Jack

Oh hello there, friends...

Mucho has been going on in my world, but nothing too exciting. Just workin like a bee, tryin to stay sane in this industry of hell. This is why I've slacked on the updates this past week. As you know, I didn't get to stop by Angels & Kings last night for Trainwreck, but I do promise to have Trainwreck/the Cartel Afterparty pictures up by sometime tonight...so check back later.

Oh, and in my last post, I lied...Paramore was not performing on TRL Tuesday, it's Thursday instead. They pre-recorded the show on Tuesday hence why I got a little confused. So now, if you missed both shows, you have one more chance! And, um, can we just talk about whatever happened to the "L" part in TRL? K thanks.

Anyways, they are home now enjoying some quick time off before they head out on yet again another tour, but here they are in Monday's performance on Conan.

PS...the sound wasn't that great. The band did an awesome job, but it sounded way too muffled and dry. For some reason, talk shows can't get it right when setting up rock music.

Watch Conan O'Brien...Paramore performs Tonight!

I can't believe I'm up this late (or this early?) but I'm here to tell you that you best be plopping yourself in front of the tube tomorrow...er, I mean tonight?

Conan O'Brien show...guess who's performing??? Yep, that's right...Paramore! Aren't you excited? Haha.

Yet again, I'm so stoked for them. They just flew in from Australia a few hours ago, so I hope they rest up. Jeremy's got a beard...like a real full grown beard. You gotta see it for yourself.

Annnnnnnd, if you don't watch tonight, we just aren't real friends. Performing is their forte...I promise you will love it. If for some reason (like your cat died or something) you miss it...they are performing on TRL (*edit*)Thursday (*edit*). Basically, you have no excuses but to see at least one of their performances. Now set those DVRs!

Photoshoot fun

Today started quite early for me. I woke up at 6:30, showered, and prepared to spend 12 hours around 6ft tall, gorgeous, foreign women.

I rolled into the studio around 8:00, set up all the garments I needed to dress my model in, and mingled with the photographer and his assistants since there was a huge chunk of downtime. The two models arrived at 9:00: Marlene (pronounced Mar-lain-a) from Germany and Nadia from Russia. Both were obviously beautiful, but neither looked like the pictures on their comp cards. Nadia is a Paris Hilton look-a-like, and Marlene kind of looks like a played down version of Angelina Jolie. Hair stylist, Raphael, and makeup artist, Mario, started on the girls not too long after. The set was already finished being set up, so we sat with the photographers David (a dead-ringer for Ryan Gosling), Jason, and Jose. These guys were totally cool, and I could have easily invited them out to AK one trainwreck night...lol. Jason is from Georgia and 6ft 5inches tall. He recently chopped 12 inches of his hair donated to Locks of Love and shaved his burly beard for a Glamour magazine makeover (look for him in an upcoming issue). Shaw, the designer, was not so flamboyantly gay, but had a definite sense for fashion. His 15 year-old son (yes, that's correct), Alex, came in and got some headshots taken during our lunch break to jumpstart his own modeling career. I did not believe he looked a day under 21. He, too, was a spitting image of someone famous: Ryan Atwood from The OC. Dang, why can't I look like somebody?

Anyways, I didn't expect these girls to be bitchy or anything, but I didn't expect them to be sooo nice. Marlene was so so so so sweet, and Nadia was hot-to-trot and full of laughs. They were fun to be around, and now I understand why the booking part of America's Next Top Model is so important. It just makes the whole day so much more gratifying and less stressful. They were totally down to buisness when necessary, and I must say...got the job done (fabulously).

I was so happy with how the day went...and not one moment was unpleasant. Everyone was in good spirits leaving me with a great start to the weekend and me daydreaming about my comfy, cozy leather couch back at my apartment.

Ivy League

Tonight, Parker, Dagger, and I trecked out to Williamsburg to support and see Alex & Ryland's own band (they're, also, both in Cobra Starship) at Luna Lounge...and, pretty much, to see the lovely Lauren Ashley play the trumpet. Honestly, I have to say my expectations were high considering just the way they dress. Those guys can outdress any guy I know and have more class than....uh, I tried to make an anology, but came up short...you know where I'm going with this, though. That and the fact that Alex and Lauren Ashley are, by far, the cutest couple on this planet. You want to hate 'em for it, but you simply can't. They're too adorable. Anyways, it was a great show and all I could think about while I was listening to them play was, "where are they selling their EP?" (I picked it up immediately after). Erica and Jessica put it best on what their sound is like...I wish they were here to explain it, but since they're not, I uploaded one of their songs for you to check out. Oh and you should def check out their myspace page, as well.

This is Ivy League - Crown of Love

RoL/Jes Spoiler/Insider Scoop

Thanks to OhNoTheyDidnt and my gal pal, Becca...I've been hugely disappointed and let down. After all the faith I put into this reality show (Rock of Love), my love for you has tumbled. *tear*

Read the following in you're interested or wanting to feel sad:

Rock of Love's Jes -- spolier-y myspace mystery!
I was browsing an earlier ONTD post about some info found on one of the Rock of Love contestant's MySpace pages. I decided to dig around and came across some interesting (and possibly spolier-y) information about Jes.

On Jes's official Rock of Love MySpace page, she has a huge pic of herself modeling for a company called Chii Clothing. If you go to Chii's MySpace, you'll find a hot guy named Quade there. Quade's MySpace has pics of himself looking cozy with Jes:

Both Quade and Jes list themselves as "In a Relationship." And there's a mysterious girl who calls herself "~ Anchor ~" who is one of Quade's top friends (right beside the "official" Jes), and has posted several comments on his page, including a ton of cryptic, flirty messages about boats and water. Here is Anchor's MySpace user pic:

Coincidentally, she is 23 years old and from Illinois, just like Jes. So I think it's safe to assume Anchor = Jes. I should also mention here that Quade's MySpace title is "••FUC VH1•• And Fuc you wierdos!!!" and Anchor's MySpace title is "I agree with Quade." Hmmm....

If Jes did end up winning Rock of Love, it sure doesn't look like she stayed with Bret for very long after the show wrapped!

Do you think she wrote this song about Bret?

This is the best thing Becca has ever posted. And yes, I bet Otis is her dad.

Is Lacey serious? I mean...I know she is, but does she honestly think....oh, I give up. What a trainwreck!

Trainwreck - October 2, 2007

I'm missed 3 of the past 4 Tuesdays...and tonight will not be another one of those ones skipped. Everyone's coming out...so you should too! Let's drink, hang, and be merry.

Finale...finally!

Some clever Joe thought to capture the beauty that is of Heather's 80's porn hairstyles. I have no idea why I couldn't think of this brilliant idea first, but in honor of her graceful loss, I am here to show it off. There's nothing I look forward to more every week than seein what slooty, 80's look she comes up with at the eliminations.

But really, I have to congratulate the adorable Jes for winning Bret's heart along with the rest of the reality-obsessed America.
