Hi...my name is Joe.

I have a life and three STDs...

Well, not really...and I certainly don't have STDs either (trust me, I know). It was the only thing I could think of to rhyme with kids...besides lids...but then that wouldn't have been funny.

Whatever...today, I visited a legit button factory! Seriously, the fact that they exist is amazing to me. Now I know I didn't pretend to be "Joe" for so many years for nothin.

So here I was in this button factory about the size of 2 cubicle spaces, with millions of buttons everywhere and a total of 8 workers pounding away on their machines. I felt like I was in Santa's toy factory with a bunch of elves. It was the funniest/cutest/saddest thing I've seen in a while.

Noooooooooo!

Zachy-poooo....what are you doing to me?

Whatevs...he's just emo. He's not gay, and even if he is, I'd still hit that. (hahaha...whoa)

The remix

Tanisha from The Bad Girls Club wakes up the girls in style...here's the remix:

Help me help someone else

I am having serious trouble finding a place to donate clothes. Can somebody PLEASE help me? I've been going through my closet and have been throwing away tons of old clothes. It's not fair that I am throwing away tons of clothes while there are people out there who seriously need them. I have old coats and gloves...it's just so cold out there lately, it makes me feel guilty for throwing these things away.

I have too much stuff to carry on my own to any sort of donation center. I need to find an organization that does a free pick-up. (Why should I have to pay someone to come pick up something I'M giving them for free?).

Anyone? Do you know of any places?

I want Art

I found some amazing pieces of art tonight and I'm dying to own someone's personal masterpieces. My only problem is, I don't think my walls were made for art...meaning, they're painted an amazing shade of orange that makes me feel so calm and warm; they're perfect the way they are. I just don't think anything would look right on them. Plus, I love so many different styles of art that they could easily clash. I don't have enough living space to display such adorable artwork. Sigh.

Dogs rule

And cats...well, I think, cats are cool! But whatever, that's not the point...

Last night, I watched the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show currently being held at MSG, and I have to admit, it might slightly be the reason I showed up late to Trainwreck. It was worth it, though, to see doggy history in the making. I am so excited to say that Uno, the 15-inch beagle won Best In Show! It was the first time ever for a beagle to win in it's one hundred something years. Ok, why I am so happy for this pup? I have no connection to him whatsoever. Maybe it's my love for the book, Where the Red Fern Grows, I read in the 8th grade.

I don't know, but they had so many cute dogs in the show...even the ugliest managed to be so adorable. I want this one because it looks like a super miniature pony.

Then, this one...the Tibetan Mastiff, was of the newest excepted breed and kinda reminds me of the lion on Zoobilee Zoo.

Come on, dogs are just so cute, it hurts...and speaking of cute, I hate those Pedigree commercials where it says "for every dog that's adopted, another one isn't." Dude, why don't you just stab me with a knife! Commercials like that make me so sad, but at least there's good cause behind it...and while noting this, you should visit www.dogsrule.com where they are raising money for this cause. It's already been almost one week and they've raised a quarter of their goal: $1,000,000. Either donate some money to help or shop pedigree when buying for your pup.

My Grammy coverage

Ok...so, I just spent the past 4 hours or so watching the Grammy's, and I couldn't have felt more satisfied by an awards show...(besides one thing, of course).

Can you believe...Paramore: nominated for Best New Artist. It feels like just yesterday I was riding around in their 12-person van with them to small compact venues. And then the day when they got their first 12-person/bed tour bus and that being a big deal...and now, they're huge, superstar Grammy Nominees! I mean, really...how amazing is that! I knew they were always bound for big things, but this really tops the cake. I am completely elated for them, and they all looked SO good! I was crossing my fingers so tight for Jeremy and the rest of the band. I really wish they won (that would have been a hell of a belated birthday present for da jerms), but gosh, just to go to this event must have been an award in it's self. Hello, it was the 50th anniversary! Maybe next year they'll get to take home the golden souvenir.

Aww, how cute!

Well...other than the disappointment on that front, I have to say, whoever helped planned this whole event did an awesome job. Seriously, I can't remember the last time I watched an award show and congratulated them on doing a good job. Usually, I get bored and flip through the channels or just watch for the fashion choices, but I actually watched EVERY minute of this show. I couldn't take my eyes and ears off the TV. I dont even think there was one performance I could say I didn't like. I mean, from Carrie Underwood, Beyonce and Tina Turner, Josh Groban and Andrea Bocelli, Rhianna...and even the little number Fergie did with John Legend impressed me. I teared up a little from the interpretive performance performed by Cirque du Soleil in tribute to The Beatles, and when Kayne did his tribute to his mother...I just think everything was so brilliantly done. Everyone looked so classy and just really paid attention to what the night was about. Uh, and Alicia Keys stole my heart tonight. Not that I'm not a fan of her, but she's not someone I'm ever dying to see (though, I think all her performances are amazing). Tonight, she just really blew me away. The opening was so endearing. It was just lovely. And her performance with John Mayer was so powerful. Then, to have all these living legends come out, too, in honor of the occasion was amazing. Musical wonders on stage like The Beatles, Tony Bennett, Keely Smith (who was adorable), Aretha Franklin, Cher, Prince, etc. etc. was totally rad. I loved how cute the duet was between Keely and Kid Rock, and I love how the Foo Fighter's were paired with the Philharmonic Orchestra. Kayne and Daft Punk...sweet! I really could keep going on and on about every I loved, and I'm probably forgetting a million other amazing things...but overall, it was the best awards show I've seen in a very very long time.

Oh and if you think I forgot about Amy Whinehouse, think again. I have NEVER liked her (not to mention she stole away Paramore's award). I really think what people love so much about her is that she's so messed up, they're just amazed she can stand up (barely) and sing at the same time. Why are people rewarding her for this? I know so many people would love to argue this with me, but this is just my opinion. Behavior like hers, I don't think deserves the recognition she gets. And congratulating her for bringing a new genre into the mainstream? Please, it already existed, you just have someone young and different to perform it. I'll stick to the classics when I want to listen to some good quality jazz music, thank you very much.

I feel so much better

Back to black...and so much happier.

Heyyo

Well it's done...sorta/finally. There's so many hiccups to resolve, but at least there the base of the (once again) new and improved Jiscilla.Com. Bare with me while I work out the kinks. I decided to separate my blog from my photos too, cause though they come from the same world, they need their own separate entities. I hope you still continue to read my blog (I know most are here for the photos), because I enjoy writing about my life and other such non-sense. And speaking of...let's see what I can quickly cover that has gone on since the beginning of the year.

1) I dyed my hair a reddish/brown shade (and I hate it)
2) I got sick like every other 521 million Americans this past month
3) I sliced open my thumb (ouch)
4) I gave up sweets for Lent
5) I have (almost) finished reading my book, The Time Traveler's Wife (I'll probably finish it tonight)
6) I made a new website for all my friends to enjoy
7) I got asked to be a bridesmaid
8) I spent wayyyyy too much money and got charged $2000 for something I can't get refunded for 8 months
9) I decided I want to go back to school (currently figuring out how)
10) I started Trainwrecking again regularly

If you didn't vote yesterday....

Vote today for what hair you like best for meeeeeee! Hahaha. I know, I know, but I'm dying to change my hair color again cause I think the reddish/brown shade I have going on right now is too dull for my liking.
