VMA's version of Trainwreck

I have quite a few things to comment on after viewing tonight's VMAs.

First off, I have to begin where the night began: Britney. I have officially lost all hope for her. Seriously. I bet you never thought I'd ever say those words, but I am pretty ticked off...insulted, almost.

You know, I got really excited when I first heard her new single like a week ago or whatever. I thought, "This is it. This is really it. She's making a comeback. She's really turning things around this time." I had faith. I was routing for her...pretty much like everyone else in the world. But, boy, I feel so let down...and so stupid!

Of all people in this world, Britney, you should know...you either go all out or don't go out at all! You could not have bored me more! You did not even TRY! You just stood there! And when you stood there, you wobbled. You couldn't even stand on your own two feet. If you've lost your balance in heels, take it back to high tops or something. Come on, you're used to starting trends...kick it up a notch. I didn't even mind that you wore another boring sparkly bra and pantie set. Whatevs, I could look past that. That's just the surface. But your dancing? Are you for real? I could have marked that better than you had performed it. Yes, I am going there. I can't believe I idolized you for years and looked up to you as a performer, and this is what you gave me! You looked drunk and on drugs (which you may have very well been). You know, I defended you for years! YEARS! I got made fun of just for listening to your music. Whatever, I really don't care what people think. I stood up for you. When you drove with kids on your lap, when you walked into the bathroom at a gas station barefoot, even when you shaved your head...I just thought you were going through some rough times, but would eventually work it all out...but really, THIS has pushed me over the edge. I'm tired of being let down. You broke my heart. The Britney I once knew is gone forever. You'd have to perform magic for me to take you back...and quite frankly, that's exactly what I THOUGHT you were gonna do tonight. Yo, Criss Angel...where you at? Oof. I'm just tired.

Moving on...

While I'm on the negativity (so I can get it out of the way) this award show has just gotten worse year after year. I'm so disappointed. Where are the creative directors out there. MTV used to pull out all the stops, and it's like all your execs are in their last years and ready to retire. You guys need a revamp. Yes, it was a cool idea to do this in Vegas. Yes, it was a cool idea to have multiple parties going on in multiple suites in different hotels, but you just could have done so much more with it. I mean, this is Vegas we're talking about. Anything goes. Man, someone really needs to hire me because I could have done a hell of a lot better. I was talking about this with my friend Erica, and we think it's a fun idea for these separate "parties," but my personal opinion, performance-wise, it's not the best idea for tv. It was a little boring. Now if I could have actually been there in Vegas?...totally rad idea! I would have been dancing till my feet turned blue, but tv usually needs more bells and whistles.

Which brings me to...(not musical instruments, but) the sad fact that a lot of my friends were actually there partying in the Friends or Enemies suite (yea, the FOB one with Gym Class and the whole Crush crew,...it was pretty much everyone from the Angels & Kings/Trainwreck crew). They were, legit, in a hotel room and most definitely trashing it along the way. Gah! I'm totally jealous! I caught glimpses of friends ever few minutes havin a grande ol' time, and here I was back in NY and watching them from my couch. Le sigh.

Anyways, on to the good stuff? Gym Class obviously won "Best New Group." I feel like my home team just won the state championship or something. I'm totally happy for them. I feel bad for whoever has to clean up their hotel room tomorrow, though. Those boys are known for destroying and mutilating their rooms. Did you see how they were to busy celebrating to even accept their award? Good job, boys. Way to bring it back to the frat house.

I guess that was the only award I cared about. I dont think I even remember any of the categories. Whatever. Oh, but I do have to say this about Rhianna...girl's got killer legs!!! I know we've seen them millions of times before, but dang, that girl is hott. And I loved her performance with Fall Out Boy. It was cute how she just rocked out. I really appreciate it. She a down chick...I hope she doesn't turn into a Beyonce (sorry Yalixa). Oh, annnnd...I'd like to thank Chris Brown...for basically saving the show. I was almost falling asleep and then the boy came out and stage and tore it up. Finally, some visuals! Being a dancer, I need that. I totally love any kind of performance, but if you can't hack it just by singing in front of a crowd, provide me with something else please.

Ok, I'm really starting to ramble...so the only other thing I'll talk about is the closer. First off, since when is Timberland so jacked? Next, Nelly Fertado is hott. And last, I friggin can't stand Justin Timberlake! Whoa, I know I'll hear it for that one, but please, can someone back me up on this one? I LOVE his music. He serioulsy one of my favorite performers...but the dude is a you-know-what. He's so full of himself, and his personality belongs in the crapper. He's got this "I'm too good for anyone" kind of attitude. Where's the humbleness?

Oof, I thought I was done there..but this is really the last thing, I swear. Sarah Silverman. Yay or nay? I can't lie, sometimes I giggle at some of the comments she makes, but to me...she's just vile. She takes it one step too far. I just could have done without her. We had enough at the Movie Awards. She's too insulting and she makes me cringe.

I really don't want to show this...but this will justify my rant above:

Get Used

Tomorrow is gonna be a banging party...The Used is in town and there will be parties thrown. Dagger is DJing at Revolver for the afterparty, so you best know it'll be danstastic! Come on down, and hang!

High School was never that innocent anyways

Ok, I'm srsly soooo upset about this whole Vanessa Anne Hudgens nudie pics thing (I know a lot of y'all out there find her annoying....but I think she's just adorable). I'm not upset that she took pictures or whatever (hey if I had a bf like Efron, I'd take them too)...but srsly, I'm just sad this thing went public and because she's supposedly getting the boot from High School Musical 3. Sorry, Disney, but I ain't interested in your Cheetah Girls' girl...I want my original Gabriella Montez back pls...mmmk? Thanx.

I might actually boycott the movie if it wasn't for wanting to make out with Zac Efron's face. But really, the whole reason why the movie is so good besides Zachy poo's swoon factor, is the whole chemistry between the two real-life lovebirds. Come on, high school wasn't ever that cookie cutter anyways, cut the girl a break. She's no Britney Spears. She doesn't walk around with her vajayjay hanging out. She's a good girl (yes, I know, because we are totally BFF). She just took some pictures for her boyfriend that was obviously not meant to be seen by anyone else.

I say Efron needs to step in on this one and refuse to do the movie without her. I mean, he got everyone else to ask for more money for the threequel besides just worrying about his own paycheck...he's gotta stand up for his girlfriend now, right? There's no way they'd dare do the movie without him. Whaddaya think?

Hey, at least she looks hott. (Her replacement = not)

Its fun to be one!

So its almost already the "next weekend"...but last weekend was so much fun, I have to write about it.   Really, there wasn't much to it, but I feel so awesome that my friends and I could have so much fun doing absolutely anything or nothing at all.   We're so entertaining.

So the weekend involved epic music, birthday parties, dance parties, scattegories, notables, snuggle time, HSM (obvs), a Monster, The Last Unicorn, & lots o' foodz (yes...with a "z"...get into it!   If you haven't already and thought I wasn't cool enough to get you into it in the first place, pls see Jesse's newest tattoo).  So yea...we began by attending the much anticipated Monty Are I show at The Knitting Factory.   I actually made this one on time! I, also, believe it was my first time NOT getting lost on the way.  It never fails no matter how many million times I've been there before, I can never find it.   Anyways, after the usual face-melting performance, we wanted to get a head-start at the bars while the boys packed up the van.  This is when we met up with Jesse and Jonah at The Hairy Monk (I originally thought the name was Hairy Monkey, but I think Hairy Monk is even better).  We secluded ourselves in the back where we indulged in drinks, amazing fries (in circular form...kinda like silver dollars), and conversation.  We tried to decipher who would win in a fight:   Jonah or Jesse? We went with the latter.  Then, Jonah or Jessica?...again, the latter.  Sorry Jonah.  When we were done with the intense debate, it was time for MONTOURAGE.   We and the whole Monty crew met up at good ol' Angels & Kings.  There were lots of familiar faces, lots of drunken fools, and lots of people in general.   I'm sad I got tired and left the night fairly early...I mean, I missed out on someone taking a piss in the corner of the bar!  False, I would have been über repulsed.   Gah, people need to grow up!  Oh wait, they really DO need to grow up.  They were underage and shouldn't have been there in the first place.

Annnnyways, onto Saturday funz.  There's nothing more awesome than celebrating birthdays...especially when it's for a dog!  Monster (Becca's pup's) just turned one, and we threw him a minz surprise party at Erica's place complete with party hats, cupcakes, presents, and a birthday song!  Erica is quite the party planner.   Oh, oh...and not to mention, High School Musical party favors (wristbands and cups) which we may or may have not brought out with us later that night...which brings me to:   Justin & Tyler's housewarming party.   There's nothing like drinking from a minz keg and Zac Efron's beautiful face (PS...I don't drink beer, but I get excited for my friends who do...I mean, it's a minz keg!   It's so cute!).  Full on dance parties were had (obvs...we WERE with Team Couch!  Team Couch + The Curbside Gang = Dance Parties).   Erica took over DJ style and gave us quality beats to step to.  It made us forget that we legit got followed by three cars on our way to finding their party/new apt.   Note to self:  NEVER walk alone, in a group of 4 or less girls, or basically EVER after dark in Bushwick.  You WILL get cat-called and you WILL be followed by supped-up cars full of more-than-sketchy dudes.  I'll have you know, though, we were in defense mode the entire way.   My thumb was on my mace button ready for some spray-to-the-face action, Becca had 911 already punched in on her cell phone ready to dial, Erica had the minz keg in hand and was not afraid to bash some players down, and somehow...Kells had no idea we were being followed???   What???  Whatevs, we made it alive and vowed never to go back unless a boy had escorted us directly from the subway to the door in the shortest distance possible.   So yeah, after all those scare tactics, the rest of the weekend was pretty low-key.  We played some scattegories on the rooftop and an epic game of notables post (another) minz keg.   We watched both High School Musical 1 & 2 for the 3rd or 4th weekend in a row (it never gets old), several episodes of Rock of Love (we love Jes...die Lacey!), some fabulously cheesy Mandy Moore movie, and The Last Unicorn in which I apparently was deprived of during my childhood years (Mom?   Where were ya on this one?).  Erica, Becca, Kelly & I had a romantic dinz at the infamous "Sea" off the Bedford stop.   Miss Baillie and Jeffrey Ventre had taken me to the Manhattan version earlier that week as a belated birthday treat and apparently I couldn't get enough of it.  It's my new favorite non-vegan restaurant.   And as if all that talk about food wasn't enough, I cannot continue on without requesting a moment of silence for the beloved 255 Restaurant (not just an address, but an actual restaurant, too). It has since then been deceased.   We all took it pretty harshly upon our Sunday morning discovery, and it wasn't a good scene.  Literally, police had seen us in distress and helped us move on with our lives.   He directed us to a nearby diner/café which left us with comments like, "Um, guys...I kinda feel safe here...I don't know if I like it," "I feel like I need to change my shirt if we eat here." However, we left the eatery remarking, "here, you pay for your meal first, and then they forget your order...at least at 255 you get your meal and then when you go to pay they forget your order," "I think I still have a hangover.   There wasn't enough grease." Our heart still is with you 255, you will not be forgotten!  Maybe Becca's party hat fowl was a subconscious ode to your memory.   Then again...probably not.  She left it in the freezer of the bodega when she was getting a Ginger Ale.  Not really related...Whatever.

That was our weekend, and that was my story.  The end.

Kiss Me

Dude, cutest video ever!

Paramore posted this on myspace today: New Found Glory's new video in which they make a cameo in. It's called "Kiss Me," and yes, it's a remake from that famous "She's All That" song. It makes ya all giddy and want to jump around...kinda like they are in the video. Cute cute cute...you have to see for yourself. I'm all about it, and usually I hate covers!

Kiss Me

Le sigh.

Ride 'em cowboys!

Oh wow...I love it when my friends make awesome flyers

Oh, and their parties are dope, too. Maybe it's about time I pay Dru another visit. It has been years.

Cup a' joe or cup a' dough?

Oh David Blaine, there is a spark of magic in your eye!

I think I'm still partial to the Mindfreak, though. I may have to argue with Jacquelene on who's hotter...but then again, D.Blaine does kinda look like an F'd up version of Wade Robson, so I suppose that's not saying much. This is something to ponder.

Where my heart is

I am so proud to see how far everyone has come since my years at Broadway Dance Center. This is where my heart is, and I have so much love for these people. I miss seeing their faces day in and day out...blood, sweat, and tears, but mostly the laughs and good times...the dedication and love behind it all. These people are truly special and so inspiring. I have nothing but love for you all.

Dance is where anything becomes possible to me. It is one of the most important things to me in my life, and though I have been on the longest hiatus ever, you should all have no doubts I'll be back once my mind and body is refreshed. Sometimes, it's distance which makes the heart grow fonder, and I've come to understand completely why I've needed this break. I can't wait to come back and see all your faces again. Always with love...

RIP 255

After spending days getting pumped about having sleepovers, having dance parties, drinking Sparks and from mini kegs, Monster's first birthday, High School Musical marathons, watching Rock of Love, Scattegories, and even more amazing...breakfast at 255 (our favorite diner de choise). We walk all the way there basically risking our lives as we always do walking in Bushwick...only coming to find, the gates all down, locked, and with a "For Sale" sign over the menu placed outside. Seriously, why would God do this to us...ok, well maybe that's too serious, but really. Why? Just why? We even went in party hats and all. I almost cried. (Seek hiplog for more pics on our journey to and from)

Speaking of crying...I was sent a video from someone who knows my weakness for black men. Tell me you don't swoon over this hot piece? PS.. you'll never be able to get this song/his face outta your head.

I'm scared for my unborn children.

You missed it

Sorry kids, but this was last week's party:

And now that I know you're sad you missed it....come to this one:
